 Sonia's Story

Sonia Renee Luster was 16 years old when she died in an automobile accident on September 19, 2008.  She was an honor student, an athlete, a dancer, an artist and a prankster with a fun sense of humor.  Sonia was an invincible teenager, just like most teens.

Parents never get over the death of a child.  Ever.  Sonia Strong was created as a mission to help teens drive safer.  As an automobile accident investigator for over 30 years, I’d like to pass along some helpful tips to young drivers.  This book will detail Sonia’s tragic accident plus provide driving tips and encouraging words through positivity to your wonderful children.  My goal is to get this book to all teen drivers.

Baseball caps and dog bandanas with the trademarked “Sonia Strong” logo on them are available for purchase on this website.  A portion of the proceeds from the merchandise and the book sales will go to The Northern Stokes Food Pantry.  It’s my way of giving back to the gracious community that wrapped their arms around me during this tragedy.  I still feel their love.

I can’t wait to share this journey with you!  Let’s go!  Sonia Strong!  May God bless you and keep you safe.

Love,
Dee Caruthers
